Waterproofing is a major factor for protecting your most valuable asset, your home. It is important to decide which method is the best for you and your home and to make sure any work performed is completed by a professional company specializing in waterproofing systems. Down Under Waterproofing can help.
Down Under Waterproofing & Foundation Repair provides much more than a dry basement. We offer increased value to your home by eliminating and/or preventing such concerns as poor air quality and excessive humidity, leading to damaged walls and finishes, potentially serious health problems, and insect infestation. We transform basements to playrooms, cellars to bedrooms, damp and dark dwellings to clean and healthy family rooms.
Some common solutions to basement waterproofing:
Interior Drainage Solutions.
Drainage systems are used to relieve water pressure that builds-up below the basement floor. This hydrostatic pressure, without an interior drainage system, would force the water into the basement. Our solution relieves the pressure and directs the water to a sump pump which is then safely discharged away from the house. A drainage system is placed below the basement floor, next to the footing of the foundation. It is used to relieve hydrostatic pressure and displace the water before it can rise, to infiltrate the basement.
Exterior French Drain Solutions.
Water always flows downhill, and by the easiest route possible. That's the basic concept behind a French drain, a slightly sloped trench filled with round gravel and perforated pipe that's used to divert underground water away from your house. When water accumulates somewhere around your foundation and the ground begins to saturate, pressure builds - hydrostatic pressure. Many times hydrostatic pressure builds below the foundation (basement) floor. Under pressure, water will find the path of least resistance and will cause basement flooding. One resolution to this problem is a drainage system. This waterproofing system is designed to pop the pressure bubble that has been building under the basement floor and provide a path for the potential flood water to drain to prior to flooding the basement.
Moisture is one of the key ingredients needed for mold growth, which can result in health problems ranging from respiratory infections, allergies, and asthma to more serious health consequences. Moisture problems alone can also produce unpleasant musty odors that can agitate asthma and cause headaches and nausea. High levels of moisture can cause structural problems in your home, such as rotting wood, buckling walls, concrete rot, rust, and insect infestation. We utilize the latest equipment and techniques specifically designed to control moisture.
Concrete has a tendency to crack. A majority of residential foundations have active or inactive cracks. Although an inactive crack can be easily repaired and reinforced, in the case of an active crack, the best solution to stop the water may be through excavation and external crack repair. Although repair methods are an industry standard, we use only top-of-the-line waterproofing products. One of the greatest assets of our company is getting the job done correctly the first time. This allows us to provide a worry-free guarantee on our work.VIEW Other Services
